Workshop (Online) on Open Source Software Utility to Applied Econometrics and Statistics 

Chandigarh, August 19, 2022: The Department of Economics in Collaboration with Department of Statistics &Department of Computer Science and Applications Panjab University, Chandigarh started 7-Days National Workshop (Online) on Open Source Software Utility to Applied Econometrics and Statistics from August 19th – 25th, 2022. The workshop shall help to prepare participants for job market by imbibing data handling skills using two open source software R-studio and Python. Faculty Members and Research Scholars throughout India enrolled and reported for the event.

Dr. Y.P. Verma, Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh, graced the event as Chief-guest. Prof. R.K. Singla, Former Dean University Instructions, PU, Chandigarh joined the inaugural session along with many senior colleagues of  the campus like Prof. Upinder Sawhney, Prof. Anu Gupta, to name among others. Dr. Nitin Arora, Department of Economics, begun the workshop with a note of thank to the Chief-guest, faculty members, and participants of workshop.

The theme of workshop was introduced by Dr. Anju Goyal, Chairperson, Department of Statistics while Dr. Rohini Sharma, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science and Applications, invited the Chief-Guest to deliver presidential remarks. Dr. Amrita Shergill, Chairperson, Department of Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Dr. Nitin Arora, and aforementioned Chairpersons of two collaborating departments are the Coordinators of this workshop. Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh is Chief-patron of the event.
