Jalandhar, April 9, 2024: The PG Department of Commerce and Management organized a workshop on ‘Tally Prime’. 

The workshop aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in utilizing Tally Prime, a comprehensive business management software.

GS Multani, Colonel (retired) currently working as a Director of ICA Edu Skills Pvt Ltd., Jalandhar, and Ritika Verma, MBA (Finance, Marketing, and UGC-NET) from the same institution, served as the resource persons for the workshop.

Shikha Puri, Dean of the Commerce Club, introduced the speakers and extended a warm welcome. The resource persons commenced the session by explaining that Tally Prime serves as a versatile solution for various business needs, including accounting, invoicing, inventory management, and business reporting. Key features of Tally Prime, such as its simplified interface, insightful business reports, and multitasking capabilities, were highlighted during the workshop. The resource persons elaborated on functionalities like GST/taxation compliance, cash flow management, and data security.

Through three case studies provided to the students, the resource persons demonstrated the practical application of Tally Prime, guiding students in using shortcut keys to navigate the software efficiently. Students actively engaged in solving the case studies and posed queries, which were promptly addressed by the resource persons.

Shikha Puri conveyed a vote of thanks at the conclusion of the workshop. A total of 40 students from B.Com. and B.Com. (FS) Semester II along with faculty members, participated in the workshop. 

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar applauded the department for holding such an informative session, providing students with valuable insights into the functionalities of Tally Prime and equipping them with updated knowledge in the field of business management software.
