Workshop at Government Model High School RC2, Dhanas

Chandigarh, December 20, 2021: Government Model High School RC2, Dhanas is located in the peripheral area of Chandigarh which is hosting thousands of students from the rehabilitation colony of Dhanas. The school works in two shifts to cater the needs that vary from academic to health and hygiene.
Social Substance is a global group and Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship Awardee involved a plethora of affirmative activities and associates of the school for years now. The members of the group served and benefitted hundreds of the students of 7,8,9 and 10th on Dec 18, 2021 by organizing extension lectures on a variety of topics.
Prof. Kawalreet Kaur taught about valuable medicinal plants and waste management, Dr. Geeta Mahajan held session for girls on Menstrual health and hygiene, Mr. Puneet Arora discussed cyber security, Dr. Ashutosh provided knowledge of hygiene for boys and awareness about drug abuse and Dr. Arun Bansal, Swachhta Saarthi Fellow addressed issues of waste management at School and personal level.
Students were enthusiastic and a number of health and examination stress related queries were also dealt with. The team was asked to hold more such sessions in coming weeks specially to deal with anxiety and health.  Ms. Ravinder Kaur, Principal of the school appreciated the selfless service of group members with a token of thanks and invited them again for organizing more of such sessions.
