Nawanshahr, January 19, 2022: In a bid to have watchful eyes, remote and real-time monitoring of all 614 polling booths of the district, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar administration would keep surveillance through live streaming to ensure free, fair and transparent assembly polls. Besides, Micro Observers and CAPF would be deployed on all 208 vulnerable polling booths in addition to webcasting.
 
Divulging the details after attending late evening VC of Chief Electoral Officer, Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Vishesh Sarangal said that there were total 614 polling booths in the district including 200 in Banga, 217 in Nawanshahr and 197 in Balachaur constituency.
 
He said that said that these 614 polling stations would have live streaming through which the administration would keep eye on the number of voters standing in the queues, polling process in real-time and monitoring entire polling process through control rooms.
 
He said that there would be high-resolution webcams connected to the high-speed internet to ensure steady transmission of visuals from all these 614 vulnerable polling stations.
 
The Deputy Commissioner also said that additional CAPF would be deployed at these polling stations of the district.
 
Similarly Micro Observers with CAPF would be deputed in 208 vulnerable polling stations in three of constituencies to keep check on the voting process on February 20, including 79 in Banga, 69 in Nawanshahr and 60 in Balachaur constituency.
 
 
Sarangal reiterated the firm commitment of the district administration to ensure free, fair and transparent assembly polls and that he would leave no stone unturned for the successful holding of festival of democracy.
 
Prominent among present on the occasion included ADCs Jasbir Singh, Major Amit Sarin and Amardeep Singh Bains, SDMs Navneet Kaur Bal, Deepak Rohela, Dr. Baljinder Singh Dhillon and AC (G) Depankar Garg.
