Walkathon Marks 5 Years of Nasha Mukt Bharat & Vigilance Awareness Week

The Department of Geography, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised a walkathon to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and to observe Vigilance Awareness Week.

Chandigarh, October 31, 2025: The Department of Geography, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised a walkathon to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and to observe Vigilance Awareness Week.

The event aimed to promote the twin themes of “Drug-Free India” and “Corruption-Free India” by encouraging awareness, responsibility, and ethical conduct among students and faculty members. The walkathon was flagged off from the Department of Geography premises and covered significant parts of the university campus, symbolising a collective march towards a healthier, transparent, and progressive society.

A large number of students, research scholars, and faculty members actively participated in the event, carrying banners and placards bearing messages such as “Say No to Drugs”, “Integrity Begins with Me”, and “Be the Change Against Corruption”. The enthusiasm and discipline displayed by the participants reflected their strong commitment to the causes being celebrated. 

The walkathon concluded with an interactive session at the department courtyard, where faculty members addressed the participants and emphasised the importance of youth participation in national awareness campaigns. They encouraged students to become ambassadors of positive change in their communities.
