Panjab University Rangoli Competition under Mental Health Awareness Session

The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, organised a Mental Health Awareness Session to promote awareness about the importance of mental health and emotional well-being among students. As part of the programme, a Rangoli Making Competition was organised to encourage creativity, participation, and positive expression among the students.

Chandigarh, September 30, 2026: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, organised a Mental Health Awareness Session to promote awareness about the importance of mental health and emotional well-being among students. As part of the programme, a Rangoli Making Competition was organised to encourage creativity, participation, and positive expression among the students.
Students of the Two-Year Integrated Master’s in Library & Information Science and One-Year Master’s in Library & Information Science participated in the competition. A total of six teams took part and prepared rangolis based on themes related to mental health, positivity, well-being, and awareness. The activity provided students with an opportunity to express their ideas creatively while highlighting the significance of maintaining good mental health. The involvement of faculty members, and research scholars contributed to creating a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for the students.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from all the teams. After evaluation, Team 3 students, Anuj, Angel, Pardeep, Lovepreet Kaur, secured the first position. While Team 6 students, Mohit Sharma, Pankaj, Twinkle, Nirmal Kaur, Archana, Bhawna, secured the second position.
 The programme combined awareness with creative student participation and reinforced the message that mental health is an important part of overall well-being. The event concluded with appreciation for all the participating students and teams for their enthusiasm and creative efforts.
