Vishva Harela Mahotsav celebrated

Chandigarh, July 22, 2022: Vishva  Harela Mahotsav was organised in Women Hostels No. 6 (Mother Teresa Hall) in association with Uttaranchal Utthan Parishad today in the premises in the of the hostel of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Students and guests planted samplings like Ajwain, Mehndi, Lemon grass, and   Aprajita.

Prof. Indu Tewari was the Chief Guest. B.S. Nagarkoti, President Kumaon Sabha  & Prof. Vinod  Sharma of Deptt. of Economics were Guest of Honours.

Prof. Indu Tewari delineated about intrinsic relationship between nature and human beings. She emphasized the need for awareness about nature and  shared how this festival is celebrated all over India as a  tradition –a wonderful example of unity in diversity. She emphasized that our survival depends on nature. Hence this is duty of everyone to protect nature.

Dr. Manisha Sharma, Warden of GH-6, welcomed all the guests and praised the Hon. Vice Chancellor &DSW’s for their support in saving the environment.

She honoured them by gifting medicinal plants.  She appreciated the students for their active participation and efforts of hostel staff for making this event successful.
