Ved Prachar Mandal holds Declamation Competition on 200th Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati at PCM SD College for Women

The Ved Prachar Mandal, Punjab in collaboration with  Guru Virjanand Gurukul Mahavidyalay, Kartarpur  organised an inter college Declamation Competition at PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of the Arya Samaj, in the presence of Dr. Udayan Arya, Principal of Guru Virjanand Gurukul Mahavidyalaya, Kartarpur.

Jalandhar, February 27, 2024: The Ved Prachar Mandal, Punjab in collaboration with  Guru Virjanand Gurukul Mahavidyalay, Kartarpur  organised an inter college Declamation Competition at PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of the Arya Samaj, in the presence of Dr. Udayan Arya, Principal of Guru Virjanand Gurukul Mahavidyalaya, Kartarpur. 

The event was presided over by Dr. Navjot, Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar.

The chief guest, Dr. Sudhir Sharma, and Dr. Shiv Dayal Mali, Principal of Arya Model High School, Jalandhar, inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Parashar and Shri Rajneesh Arya officially started the competition by unveiling the results and awarding prizes to the participants.

In this competition, students from 21 colleges delivered speeches on various topics related to Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the role of Arya Samaj in the freedom movement, the significance of Vedic culture, and other subjects. Prof. Dr. Usha Avasthi, Principal Dr. Narendra Sandhu, and Prof. Sarojini played crucial roles in judging the competition.

The chief guest, Shri Sudhir Sharma, welcomed prominent social workers and other dignitaries. The ceremony was organized with the support of Mandal's founder members Roshan Lal Arya, Rakesh Chandna, Jyoti Swarup Kamboj, Gursharan Singh Smiley Mehta, and others.

Principal Navjot, in her address, praised the selection of topics and emphasized the Mandal's commendable work in promoting Indian culture. Principal Prof.(Dr.)Pooja Prashar expressed gratitude for everyone's cooperation. Sudhir Sharma distributed awards to the winners who got first, second, and third positions. In addition to this, appreciation prizes were also given.

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice-President Vinod Dada, along with the esteemed members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar, extended heartfelt congratulations to everyone involved for the successful execution of the Vedic Speech Competition. They also expressed gratitude to the participants, judges, and organizers, highlighting the event's significance in promoting Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati's teachings and preserving Vedic culture.
