The annual conference of the North-West Chapter of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM) was organized on Sunday at the Sushrut Auditorium by the Department of Pathology at Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences. As Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal, inaugurated this prestigious event—themed "Current Perspectives in Pathology"—by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Rohtak, April 5, 2026: The annual conference of the North-West Chapter of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM) was organized on Sunday at the Sushrut Auditorium by the Department of Pathology at Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences. As Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal, inaugurated this prestigious event—themed "Current Perspectives in Pathology"—by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Describing the event as a celebration of knowledge and creativity, Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal remarked that young residents attending the conference would have much to learn from the experienced experts present. While commending the quality of the e-posters and e-presentations, he also suggested compiling a comprehensive alumni database for the department, spanning from its inception to the present day. Congratulating Dr. Sunita Singh, Dr. Nisha Marwah, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, and Dr. Sant Prakash Kataria on organizing the event, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Agarwal hoped that the outcomes emerging from this intellectual exchange would bring about revolutionary changes in medical practice.

Registrar Dr. Roop Singh said that such events serve to showcase the academic excellence of the institution. He added that this conference, hosted at PGIMS, would set new benchmarks in the fields of medical education and research.

Conference Chairperson Dr. Sunita Singh delivered the welcome address and provided a detailed overview of the program. She explained that the primary objective of the conference was to share the latest technological advancements taking place within the field of pathology. Conference General Secretary Dr. Sanjay Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. He noted that physicians and experts from 10 different states participated in the conference, delivering approximately 130 oral and poster presentations.

A souvenir dedicated to the field of pathology was also released during the conference. Present on the occasion were Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. M.G. Vashishth, Medical Superintendent Dr. Kundan Mittal, and Registrar of the Haryana Medical Council Dr. Mandeep Sachdeva, along with other senior physicians. Dr. Nisha said that, for their distinguished services in the field of pathology, senior physicians—Dr. Uma Singh, Dr. Satyavir Mathur, Dr. Rajiv Sen, Dr. Vinay Kamal, and Dr. Harsh Mohan—were honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the conference.
