Valedictory programme of the 125th orientation course

Chandigarh: The Valedictory Programme of the 125th Orientation Course, on in-service training programme for faculty of Colleges and Universities was held in the Panjab University Campus with 35 teachers receiving their completion certificates.


Professor R.K. Kohli, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, in his valedictory address spoke about the challenges of teaching profession.  This is one of the most difficult professions, he said, and teachers would do well to keep the welfare of the country before themselves, to find goodness in the institutes where they are working and to love their profession above all.  Professor Kohli assured the teachers that we should not keep waiting for situations to be in our favour, but must take the initiatives. 

Professor S.K. Tomar, Honorary Director, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh interacted with the participants.  He asked them to be in contact with the HRDC in order to be updated about professional development programmes and policies.

Pema C. Raj, Assistant Professor in English, Sikkim Institute of Higher Education, Gangtok one of the participants said that the course has opened a new vista for the new teachers.  Participants have really learnt novel techniques of pedagogy and are now ready to implement them and experiment in their respective classrooms.
