Valedictory Ceremony at CSDE, PU

Chandigarh, March 14, 2024: Under the aegis of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Panjab University, the Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (CSDE) held a Valedictory Function of the 30-hour Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) on Corporate Valuation Using Excel-Based Financial Models. The hands-on course provided students with the skills needed to estimate any business’s value and learn to use earnings, book value, revenue, or other pricing multiples and comparables to price business.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Y.P. Verma, Registrar, Panjab University, emphasised that skills are necessary, but success can be achieved only by courageous devotion to the task by quoting famous Indian physicist C.V. Raman. He appreciated the pivotal role played by CSDE in closing the skills gap.

The keynote speaker, Sai Gaurav Gupta, Associate Vice President, Kuantum Papers Ltd., motivated students to pursue excellence. He encouraged students to acquire knowledge, work hard, improve communication, work collaboratively, and work in a team. He emphasised how valuations can be a helpful and effective management tool.

The certificates were awarded to the students for successfully completing the SEC. The valedictory function not only celebrated the students’ achievements but also reiterated the commitment of all stakeholders to support skill development initiatives.
