Jalandhar, August 1, 2025: As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, all five campuses of Innocent Hearts — Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Cantt.-Jandiala Road, and Kapurthala Road — united to plant trees on their respective campuses, celebrating environmental sustainability and the nurturing essence of motherhood.
This green drive was organized Under the flagship of environmental campaigns — Mission LIFE by the Government of India and Mission Haryali by the Punjab Government — Disha, an initiative run and managed by the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, undertook a tree plantation drive to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.
The plantation was led by Shally Bowry (Executive Director, Schools) and Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry (Director, CSR), along with community leader Shailja Aggarwal (NGO – Helping Souls), and mothers along with their children who collectively emphasized the campaign’s dual mission: fostering ecological responsibility and honoring the life-giving spirit of mothers. Ambassadors of the Eco Club actively participated, ensuring each sapling was planted with care. In a unique gesture, the plants were named after national heroes, and MUN students were assigned the duty of nurturing them.
Students were also encouraged to plant trees near their homes and adopt one plant to care for, extending the campaign beyond school boundaries. This initiative stands as a powerful symbol of community involvement, environmental consciousness, and respect for the role of mothers in shaping life and society.
