Gajanand Sharma, PhD research scholar of Pharmaceutics division at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh: Gajanand Sharma, PhD research scholar of Pharmaceutics division at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University has been awarded the prestigious Research Associate (RA) fellowship by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Govt. of India, New Delhi for a period of 3years and extendable to 5years. This is a highly competitive fellowship in the field of Medicine and Health Sciences, whereas only 815 candidates have been selected from all over the country. The PhD work of Mr Sharma,supervised by Prof. O.P. Katare, Prof. Bhupinder Singh Bhoop and Dr Gurpal Singh, relates to designing of Lipid-Based Nanocarriers for the topical delivery of various active pharmaceutical ingredients, especially for the management of arthritis-related painful ailments. The research work has been rated high with good translational potential and industrial utility.
