Chandigarh, February 9, 2018: The research scholars of Pharmacognosy division at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University have won four awards at the International conference on ‘Challenges for global competitiveness of AYUSH and natural products and IASTAM oration and award function 2018’, held at Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and
Research University (DPSRU), New Delhi from 2-4 February 2018.
Two best poster awards and two best oral presentation awards in different themes were bagged in the conference, where more than 600 delegates attended the conference and 270 papers from across 15 states of India were presented.
The research scholars Neetika Sharma, Sunyana Chowdhary, Rajendra Kumar Panda and Mandeep Kaur working under the supervision of Prof. Karan Vasisht, Prof. Maninder Karan and Dr. Jai Malik presented studies on standardization, validation,
pharmacological evaluation and formulation development of herbal drugs. The aim of the conference is to deliberate on the major challenges of global competitiveness and acceptance of Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy medicine and to come out with reports giving strategies that can be submitted to authorities and policy makers in the government for promotion in AYUSH herbal medicines.
