Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences. Around 200 doctors, spanning from the year 1960 to the present, gathered to relive old memories.

Special guests included alumnus and two-time MP Dr. Sushil Kumar Indora, Registrar Dr. Roop Singh, Director Dr. S.K. Singhal, Dean (Academic Affairs) Dr. M.G. Vashisht, Dean (Student Welfare) Dr. Savita Singhal, and Dr. Sushila Takshak, alongside anaesthetists serving both within the country and abroad.
Describing the Department of Anaesthesia as vital, Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Aggarwal stated that the department bears the primary responsibility for patient safety in the Operation Theatre (OT) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He noted that doctors who have graduated from the department are bringing laurels to the institution by holding prestigious positions across the globe. He added that the university is committed to providing quality education based on modern technology.
The program commenced with the lines of the song, "Musafir hain hum bhi, musafir ho tum bhi". While sharing the department's history, Director Dr. S.K. Singhal mentioned that Dr. G.L. Kamra laid the foundation of the department in 1963. At that time, there were only five faculty members, a figure that has now risen to 54. He remarked that although resources were limited in the early days, immense dedication has enabled the department to now possess modern OTs, ICUs, a pain clinic, and advanced monitoring systems. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the anesthesia team worked on the front lines, setting an example for the entire country.
Sharing memories of her student days, Dr. Kiranpreet noted that the 1985 MBBS batch saw the highest number of students joining the anesthesia department. Dr. Deepak remarked that seeing all his old colleagues together after so many years felt like stepping back in time. Dr. Kamna Kakkar, who earned recognition for her dedicated work during the pandemic, credited her teacher, Dr. Sushila Takshak, for her success. Senior physician Dr. K.L. Garg highlighted the doctor-patient relationship through poetry.
Dr. Sushil Indora, an alumnus of the department and a two-time Member of Parliament, expressed his delight at visiting his old college, noting that such reunions keep memories alive. Organizing Secretary Dr. Prashant Kumar explained that the event was divided into three segments. In the first phase, Dr. Jatin Lal and Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj conducted a "recognize the photo" quiz, which left the doctors emotional as they viewed photographs of themselves from 30 to 40 years ago. The second phase featured a ramp walk by faculty members, followed by cultural performances. The final phase included a tour of the department and a screening of old video clips.
Dr. Balbir Chhabra, Dr. Savita Saini, and Dr. C.V. Singh were honored with the "Best Teacher" award during the event. Garima Sharma, the granddaughter of Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma, was also present as a special guest. The event concluded with a group photograph.
