Raksha Bandhan Celebrates Love, Responsibility and Social Harmony: HIRD Director Dr. Chauhan
The Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD) organised a special programme to mark Raksha Bandhan under its ‘Ram-Ram Haryana’ initiative.
Nilokheri, August 27, 2026: The Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD) organised a special programme to mark Raksha Bandhan under its ‘Ram-Ram Haryana’ initiative.
Presiding over the programme, HIRD Director Dr Virender Singh Chauhan described Raksha Bandhan as a festival of love, trust, responsibility and social harmony. He said the rakhi symbolises not only the bond between siblings but also mutual respect and responsibility.
Dr Chauhan said festivals play an important role in connecting families and society with cultural values while strengthening cooperation and goodwill. He stressed that the spirit of Raksha Bandhan should extend beyond a single day and be reflected in everyday life.
He also highlighted the need to uphold women’s dignity, safety and equal opportunities, and urged officers and employees to promote fraternity, cooperation and a positive work environment at the institute.
Assistant Professor Dr Sushil Mehta said Raksha Bandhan strengthens love, trust and affection between siblings, while Assistant Professor Sandeep Kumar said such cultural programmes help preserve traditions and promote social harmony.
Participants exchanged greetings and pledged to preserve Indian culture and traditions. Pritam Yadav, Saurabh Arora, Mohit Kumar and other HIRD officials and employees were present.
