UHSR Glows with 10,000 Diyas for Nation
The UHSR campus lit up with nearly 10,000 earthen lamps on Thursday as part of the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The campus resonated with slogans of ‘Ek Diya Desh Ke Naam’ as a diya procession was taken out from the Director’s Office to the university gate and from Sushrut Auditorium to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, led by Vice-Chancellor Dr H.K. Aggarwal.

Rohtak, September 17, 2026: The UHSR campus lit up with nearly 10,000 earthen lamps on Thursday as part of the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The campus resonated with slogans of ‘Ek Diya Desh Ke Naam’ as a diya procession was taken out from the Director’s Office to the university gate and from Sushrut Auditorium to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, led by Vice-Chancellor Dr H.K. Aggarwal.
VC Dr Aggarwal said the illumination marked gratitude for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public and national service. Each diya, he said, symbolised a commitment to service, dedication and nation-building.
The programme also featured a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday, with participants wishing him good health and longevity.
Registrar Dr Roop Singh described the initiative as a reflection of the spirit of ‘Nation First’. Director Dr S.K. Singhal, senior doctors, officers, employees and students attended the event.
