&TV Artists Mark World Television Day by Reflecting on Their Journeys and TV’s Future!
Television has been the foundation of Indian entertainment for decades, shaping careers, creating icons, and connecting millions of households through shared stories. On World Television Day, &TV’s renowned actors Paras Arora (Jeetu, Gharwali Pedwali), Yogesh Tripathi (Happu Singh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Aasif Sheikh (Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) take a nostalgic walk through their journeys, reflecting on how television gave them identity, purpose, and a platform to grow. Paras Arora aka Jeetu from the upcoming show Gharwali Pedwali shares “My connection with television began when I was very young. I started as a child actor in one of the most popular shows of that time, and that early exposure shaped everything that I am today. Television taught me discipline, gave me identity, and helped me understand the true essence of storytelling. What excites me the most now is being a part of Gharwali Pedwali. After years, a supernatural comedy with such a fresh flavour has come back to television. It is a new-age concept where humour, emotions, and fantasy blend beautifully. I feel shows like this represent the future of our industry. Audiences today want something unique, something that surprises them, and television is evolving to meet those expectations. For me, playing Jeetu feels like coming full circle — from starting as a child actor to now being part of a pathbreaking show that brings an unexplored genre back into the mainstream. Television will always remain the heart of Indian entertainment, and with innovative stories like Gharwali Pedwali, I believe the future looks incredibly promising.”
Yogesh Tripathi aka Daroga Happu Singh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan said, “My journey with television has been nothing short of life-changing. When I started my career, I did not come from a place of privilege or connections. I worked hard, doing small roles, building my craft step by step. But it was Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain that truly changed everything for me. The role of Happu Singh gave me a new identity, one that people instantly recognised and loved. Because of that love, &TV trusted me with my own show, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, and that was a milestone I will always cherish. Television gave me a name, stability, and the opportunity to make people laugh every day. Even today, when people call me Happu Singh, it feels like a blessing. As for the future, I believe television will continue to stand strong. The formats might change, but the connection it offers cannot be replaced. It will always remain a part of India’s daily routine.” Aasif Sheikh aka Vibhuti Narayan Mishra from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain shares, “I have been part of television since the very beginning. In fact, I had the privilege of being the lead in India’s first daily soap, which marked a new chapter in Indian entertainment. Over the years, I have performed more than 350 characters on television, each one helping me grow as an actor and as a person. But the kind of recognition and love I received through Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain has been truly special. Playing Vibhuti Narayan Mishra allowed me to explore comedy and versatility in a way I had never done before. The audience made this character iconic, and I will always be grateful for that. Television has given me longevity, identity, and immense respect. When I look at today’s scenario, I feel television will continue to thrive. Content is diversifying, audiences are evolving, but the medium’s emotional bond with viewers will always keep it relevant and strong.”
