The Desi Thath program at IHM showcases glimpses of Haryanavi culture and cuisine

Desi Thath, A special program dedicated to Haryanavi culture and cuisine, was organized at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) situated at Tilyar Lake, Rohtak. Faculty and staff members along with students participated enthusiastically in this program organized in collaboration with LPS Bossard, Pizza Wings, and Garima Garden.

Rohtak, November 27, 2025: Desi Thath, A special program dedicated to Haryanavi culture and cuisine, was organized at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) situated at Tilyar Lake, Rohtak. Faculty and staff members along with students participated enthusiastically in this program organized in collaboration with LPS Bossard, Pizza Wings, and Garima Garden.

The Desi Thath event showcased Haryana's traditions, cuisine, and folk hospitality. The program was smoothly conducted by IHM lecturer Vikas Deshwal. Gajendra Phogat, OSD to the Chief Minister and Director of the Haryana Arts Council, Rohtak Region, Dr. Suresh Singhal, Director of PGIMS, Rohtak, and Haryanavi folk culture activist Raghuvendra Malik, along with other dignitaries, attended the program.

In a series of cultural programs, the Haryana Kala Parishad's team of artists- Rajesh, Ravi, Kalpana, and others, enthralled the audience with folk songs. IHM student Anju Bala also performed a captivating dance performance based on a Haryanvi song. The IHM's staff also presented a patriotic ragini.

Guests were seated in traditional rows and served traditional Haryanvi dishes on leaf plates, including millet khichdi, kadhi, churma, missi roti, jaleba, suhali, gulgula, bathua saag, kheer, chutney, and other traditional dishes. Guests appreciated the authentic flavors of these traditional dishes.

Theme-based stalls also showcased Haryanvi folk costumes and glimpses of rural life. OSD to CM, Gajendra Phogat, said that Haryana's culture is our pride. When the younger generation embraces folk culture and traditions, both society and the state are strengthened. Praising the event, he said that such programs keep us connected to our roots. He also recited the lyrics of his self-written song, "Sector Aali Kothi Me Nahi Lagta Ji." Director PGIMS Dr. Suresh Singhal praised the program and wished the students a bright future. IHM Principal Shambhu Nath Gautam expressed his gratitude at the end.
