Ten-Day NCC Training Camp Concludes at DAV University; 597 Cadets Complete Intensive Training
The ten-day Combined Annual Training Camp-37 (CATC-37), organized by the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion at DAV University, Jalandhar, concluded successfully on Sunday with the enthusiastic participation of 597 NCC cadets representing various schools and colleges across the region.
Jalandhar, June 15, 2026: The ten-day Combined Annual Training Camp-37 (CATC-37), organized by the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion at DAV University, Jalandhar, concluded successfully on Sunday with the enthusiastic participation of 597 NCC cadets representing various schools and colleges across the region.
The camp, which commenced on June 5, was designed to provide comprehensive training aimed at developing leadership, discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of national service among the cadets. During the intensive residential programme, participants underwent rigorous military drill training, physical fitness sessions, weapon training, map reading, field craft, disaster management exercises, and classes on NCC subjects. A variety of sports competitions, cultural activities, and group discussions were also organized to foster confidence, camaraderie, and national integration.
Addressing the cadets during the valedictory ceremony, Camp Commandant Col. Dalbir Singh lauded the dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm displayed by the cadets throughout the camp. He emphasized that NCC training plays a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders of the nation. He encouraged the cadets to uphold the values of patriotism, integrity, and selfless service in their personal as well as professional lives.
Col. Dalbir Singh also expressed his sincere gratitude to Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, DAV University, Jalandhar, for providing the university campus and extending wholehearted support for the successful conduct of the camp. He appreciated the excellent infrastructure and administrative assistance provided by the University, which contributed significantly to the smooth execution of the ten-day training programme.
Expressing his delight at hosting the prestigious NCC camp, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, DAV University, said, "DAV University is committed to nurturing young minds through holistic education that goes beyond academics. Dr. S. K. Arora, Registrar, DAV University, also appreciated the successful completion of the camp and the enthusiastic participation of the cadets. The camp also featured several inter-company competitions in drill, cultural events, sports, and NCC knowledge, providing cadets with opportunities to showcase their talents and competitive spirit. Outstanding performers were felicitated during the closing ceremony. The camp arrangements were efficiently managed by Subedar Major Gulzar Singh with the support of military staff, instructors, and Associated NCC Officers (ANOs).
Associated NCC Officers Lt. Rahul Bhardwaj and Lt. Ahmad Husain, Chief Officer Vinay Kumar, and Second Officer Vandana Sharma played an active role in mentoring and guiding the cadets throughout the camp. Their continuous efforts contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of training activities and the overall development of the cadets.
The successful conclusion of CATC-37 marked another significant milestone in promoting the ideals of the National Cadet Corps. The camp concluded with a renewed sense of commitment among the cadets towards nation-building, leadership, and community service, truly reflecting the NCC motto, "Unity and Discipline."
