Teachers Learn New AI-Based Teaching and Assessment Methods on Day Two of FDP at MDU
Teachers were introduced to modern Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based teaching, assessment, and research methodologies on the second day of the seven-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) jointly organized by the MDU’s Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), the Department of Computer Applications, and DAV Centenary College, Faridabad. Experts from leading academic and research institutions delivered lectures highlighting the growing role of AI in higher education and research.

Rohtak, August 4, 2026: Teachers were introduced to modern Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based teaching, assessment, and research methodologies on the second day of the seven-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) jointly organized by the MDU’s Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), the Department of Computer Applications, and DAV Centenary College, Faridabad. Experts from leading academic and research institutions delivered lectures highlighting the growing role of AI in higher education and research.
Dr. Anil Kumar from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), ISRO, explained the application of AI in remote sensing, geospatial technologies, disaster management, environmental monitoring, and precision agriculture. Prof. Tanmay Chakraborty, Registrar of NMIMS, Mumbai, discussed the role of AI, social networks, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) in transforming higher education.
Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Dean of Academic Affairs at Kurukshetra University, highlighted ways to strengthen Outcome-Based Education (OBE) through AI-enabled teaching methodologies. Prof. Naseeb Singh introduced participants to the academic applications of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and NotebookLM.
In the concluding technical session, Prof. Rajendra Prasad from IIIT Sri City demonstrated how AI can be used to develop competency-based question papers, ensure transparent evaluation, and simplify assessment processes in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Faculty members also interacted with the experts and learned practical strategies for effectively integrating AI into teaching, research, and academic assessment.
