Ludhiana, July 31, 2025: Horizon School of Excellence, a unique initiative of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust and Shri Gow Rakshni Sabha, that provides quality education to children from economically challenged sections of society, welcomed its special guests on the school premises — teams from the Druk Gyalpo’s Institute, Bhutan and Pallavan Learning Systems, Delhi.
Horizon School of Excellence was privileged to host an inspiring and interactive session with distinguished educationists from The Royal Academy, under the Druk Gyalpo’s Institute, Bhutan, and Pallavan Learning Systems, India.
The guests were warmly welcomed by the school community with a special welcome song presented by students of Classes III and IV. To mark the occasion meaningfully, Class IV students offered a ‘green welcome’, presenting microgreen seeds to the visiting teams as a symbol of sustainability and growth.
Students from Classes III and IV recited a powerful and reflective poem titled “Ek Sawaal Aur”, echoing the school’s annual theme. The performance was followed by a lively and spirited Punjabi folk song that added a local and festive flavour to the event.
The visiting delegates were taken on a guided tour of the school, where they visited classrooms and interacted with students engaged in learning activities. The guests appreciated the school’s focus on student engagement, experiential learning, and joyful classrooms.
A detailed presentation by the Principal offered deep insights into Horizon’s academic philosophy, learning systems, and adherence to the National Education Policy (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
The teams from Druk Gyalpo’s Institute, Bhutan and Pallavan Learning Systems shared the learning process followed in their schools, which centres on the child competing with himself/herself to improve their scores. They shared their pedagogical approach, which is deeply rooted in values, reflective practice, and a spirit of service, with a strong emphasis on supporting children from under-resourced and challenged backgrounds. The educationists from The Royal Academy, Bhutan said their philosophy of nurturing the whole child deeply resonated with Horizon’s approach to student well-being and education.
The event served as a meaningful platform for cross-cultural exchange and dialogue on innovative educational practices.
