Play Performance at DLC SUPVA on Feb. 5 to celebrate the birth centenary of the renowned playwright and writer Mohan Rakesh
Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) will celebrate the birth centenary of the renowned playwright and writer Mohan Rakesh on February 5th 2026. On this occasion, a scene from his widely acclaimed play 'Adhe-Adhure' will be performed by students of Scene Work. Students from the acting department are continuously rehearsing to finalize the preparations.
Rohtak, February 3, 2026: Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) will celebrate the birth centenary of the renowned playwright and writer Mohan Rakesh on February 5th 2026. On this occasion, a scene from his widely acclaimed play 'Adhe-Adhure' will be performed by students of Scene Work. Students from the acting department are continuously rehearsing to finalize the preparations.
FC, Film and Television Department Mahesh TP said that the play 'Adhe-Adhure' is being conceptualized and directed by Professor Vibhanshu Vaibhav. Prince is playing the role of Mahendra Nath, Pushkar is playing the role of Jagmohan, and Bharti is playing the role of Savitri. He said that the play 'Adhe-Adhure' depicts the imbalances in relationships between men and women.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that students should completely immerse themselves in their roles in the play, and for this, a set has been prepared in the Mini Auditorium. The participants' performances should feel lively to the students and the audience and be memorable for a long time; therefore, the university has specially created the set according to the story's requirements. VC Dr. Arya said that the university's effort here is to train and educate such skilled performers who can make a name for themselves and for Haryana both nationally and internationally. Hence, they are being provided with sets similar to those used in big films for practice.
