Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Taj, one of the most recognised names in luxury hospitality, has now ventured into the branded villa segment. Indian Hotels Company Limited, in partnership with Amavi, has announced the launch of ‘Taj Mount Kussur Resort & Villas’ in Lonavala, Maharashtra. The project marks a new direction for Taj in the luxury real estate space.
Spread across 34 acres in the picturesque Western Ghats, the development comprises 32 branded villas and a 100-room Taj resort. Featuring contemporary barn-style architecture, expansive glass walls and spacious verandas, the villas are designed to bring guests closer to nature. The project also includes a two-acre Wabi-Sabi Central Park, a Miyawaki forest, nature trails, a Zen garden, a stargazing deck, and fitness and sports facilities.
According to Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO, “With Taj Mount Kussur, we have made a remarkable entry into the branded villa segment, bringing the legacy of Taj and its unparalleled hospitality to a new category of luxury real estate.”
Apoorva Kumar, Founder and Managing Director of Amavi, said the project brings together the privacy of a home with the world-class service of Taj.
The villas are available for sale and will also become part of the resort inventory under a lease-back programme, offering owners an opportunity to combine private villa ownership with the hospitality ecosystem of the resort.
