Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited (NSE: STARHEALTH; BSE: 543412), one of India’s leading standalone health insurance companies, settled over ₹570 crore in claims across Maharashtra in Q1 FY27, supporting over 4 lakh lives and underscoring the role of health insurance in helping families manage evolving healthcare needs across the state.
Mumbai, Pune and Nashik reflected key healthcare utilisation patterns during the quarter, offering insight into treatment needs across Maharashtra’s major urban and emerging markets. During Q1 FY27, Star Health settled over 41,300 claims worth ₹280 crore in Mumbai and more than 20,500 claims worth ₹115 crore in Pune. Overall, Star Health settled over 93,000 claims across the state, reflecting the scale of customer support across Maharashtra. The claims experience also points to treatment trends across Orthopaedics & Trauma, Ophthalmology, Urology and Carcinoma, highlighting the importance of early health protection, adequate insurance cover and financial preparedness.
As healthcare needs become increasingly complex, health insurance plays an important role in helping families manage the financial impact of medical treatment.
