Swings, Mehendi and Kites Mark Lively Teej Celebrations at SUPVA
Teej festivities came alive at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) on Tuesday, with students immersing themselves in a vibrant mix of cultural and recreational activities at the Faculty of Planning and Architecture campus.
Rohtak, August 18, 2026: Teej festivities came alive at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) on Tuesday, with students immersing themselves in a vibrant mix of cultural and recreational activities at the Faculty of Planning and Architecture campus.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya and Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik Manocha visited the venue and appreciated the students’ efforts in organising the celebrations. The programme was inaugurated by Dean Academic Affairs Dr Ajay Kaushik by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Planning and Architecture students played a key role in organising and decorating the campus for the festival. The celebrations featured colourful stalls, mehendi, swings, dance performances, kite flying and tug-of-war competitions, drawing enthusiastic participation throughout the day. Female students as well as women members of the teaching and non-teaching staff enjoyed the traditional swings.
The mehendi stalls proved particularly popular, with girl students getting intricate designs applied on their hands. Dance performances to popular songs, kite flying and tug-of-war emerged as major attractions, while several other fun activities kept the festive spirit going.
VC Announces ₹21,000 for Teej Celebrations
Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya appreciated the students’ initiative and announced a contribution of ₹21,000 from his discretionary fund towards the Teej celebrations. He said celebrating festivals with joy and enthusiasm helps the younger generation stay connected with the country’s rich cultural traditions. He also extended Teej greetings to all students and staff members.
