Study tour organized by GSSS Singhpura as per directives of SCERT Punjab  

Chandigarh, February 6, 2024: The University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development at Panjab University welcomed over 100 students along with their 10 faculty members from GSSS Singhpura, Kurali, on Tuesday. 

This study tour was organized by GSSS Singhpura as per the directives of SCERT Punjab. The visiting students were from classes 9, 10, and senior students from classes 11 and 12, focusing on the medical stream. During the visit, the students were addressed by Prabhdip Brar, PhD, Chairperson of UIFT & VD, who introduced them to various aspects of the fashion industry. Additionally, Bharti Sharma, JRF at UIFT&VD, and Gargi, Guest Faculty at UIFT&VD, discussed the admission process and career opportunities in the field. 

The students were provided insights into fashion design processes and had the opportunity to explore different labs within the department, including the art lab, sewing lab, patern lab, and textile lab. Moreover, the students engaged with university students, learning about diverse domains within fashion designing. Their enthusiasm for the course and positive outlook towards careers in the fashion industry were evident throughout the visit.
