Students of University Institute of Law brought Laurel

Ludhiana, March 30, 2017: The students of University Institute of Law (UIL), Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, brought laurel to the department by excelling in the O.P Jindal National Sports Fest “MAGNUS-2017” organized by O.P Jindal University, Sonipat. Students participated in various games and secured different positions in the tournament. Mr.Harsimran Singh Grewal bagged Gold Medal in the Shotput. Whereas, the Cricket team of UIL, Ludhiana bagged a Silver Medal while chasing a daunting target of 183 runs in the 20 overs. The team was struggling at 60 runs for 5 wickets in 10 overs. Despite of the Captain Mr.Angad’s heroic knock of 116 (not out), the team lost the match by just one run only. Mr.Navansh Aggarwal was adjudged the Man of Tournament and Captain of the team Mr. Angad Chahal was declared Man of the Match.
Prof. Harmeet Singh Sandhu, Director, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana congratulated students and staff of the Institute. He informed that students of UIL are doing excellent not only in sports but in the other areas also. He further apprised that Ms. Taranpreet Kaur got first position in declamation contest “VIMARSH-2017” organized by Panjab University, Chandigarh; Ms. Rachita Gupta bagged first position in Debate in “ZEITGIEST-2017” held at IIT, Ropar; Ms. Mannat Arora bagged first position in online poetry writing competition in “EXPRESSIONS-2017” organized by Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patitala; and Team SAHIR got first prize in Nukkad Natak at “PANACHE-2017” organized by GGDSD College Chandigarh and at “TECHNOVIRSA-2017” organized by Rayat Bahra, Ropar.
