Ludhiana, March 29, 2023: CT University’s School of law organised ‘Vidhan Sabha’ visit for the final year students with an aim to provide best practical exposure. Students from School of Law have attended live sessions of ‘Vidhan Sabha’ at Chandigarh.
More than 60 students, Students visited ‘law-making branch’ and learnt about different aspects related to the state legislature which has the power to make laws on all Items on which Parliament cannot legislate. Some of these items are police, prisons, irrigation, Agriculture, local governments, public health, Pilgrimage, and burial grounds.
 
Students also attended the Budget Session 2023. In the Session proceedings on General discussion on Budget Estimates for the year 2023-24, discussion and Voting on Demands for Grants regarding Budget Estimates for the year 2023-24, Motion regarding Constitution of Elected Committees of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the year 2023-24, Motion under Rule 16 regarding adjournment of the House sine-die, Legislative Business were held.

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema presented Rs 1.96-lakh-crore state budget for 2023-24 in the assembly which focused primarily on agriculture, education and health sectors. Cheema announced various new schemes such as a market price risk mitigation scheme for the horticulture sector, solarisation of agriculture pumps, a young entrepreneur scheme and two coaching initiatives for students in the first full budget of the AAP government.
 
All the students have earned the great learning experience by joining the proceedings of Legislative Assembly on various agendas of session.
