Students from different states at the Central University of Punjab celebrated National Dress Day 2024 with a vibrant display of cultural richness and diversity. The occasion was marked by a special program that emphasized the spirit of Unity in Diversity among the university community.

Bathinda, March 6, 2024: Students from different states at the Central University of Punjab celebrated National Dress Day 2024 with a vibrant display of cultural richness and diversity. The occasion was marked by a special program that emphasized the spirit of Unity in Diversity among the university community.

During this program, faculty, staff, and students, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, formed a human chain to create a Map of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. This symbolic gesture aimed to represent the unity and diversity of India, highlighting the interconnectedness of its various states and regions in achieving the vision of a developed and harmonious nation. The formation of the human chain underscored the collective commitment of the Central University of Punjab community towards fostering national integration and solidarity.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari highlighted the significance of National Dress Day as an opportunity to embrace traditional attire and promote cultural understanding. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to providing a platform for cultural exchange and holistic development for students from 28 states and 7 Union Territories.

Prof. Tiwari emphasized that traditional outfits not only reflect cultural heritage but also serve as a means of communication, representing the geographical and cultural origins of individuals. He urged students to take pride in wearing their traditional attire and to actively represent their culture.

During this program, students showcased the cultural diversity of India by wearing traditional outfits representing various states. Additionally, international students studying at CU Punjab also participated in the cultural event by wearing their respective traditional outfits.

In addition to celebrating cultural diversity, Prof. Tiwari administered the Voter's Pledge during the program, encouraging first-time voters to participate in the democratic process and cast their votes in the 18th Lok Sabha Elections.
On this occasion, Prof. Monisha Dhiman (Director IQAC), Prof. Anjana Munshi (Director R&D), Dr. Vijay Sharma (Registrar), Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma (Finance Officer), Prof. Bawa Singh, Dr. Neelu Rawat, Dr. Deepika Shrivastava, faculty, staff, and students were present.
