Sports Mania 2025: A Spectacular Celebration of Athleticism and Enthusiasm

Jalandhar, February 16, 2025: DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, hosted the much-awaited *ports Mania on 14th February, transforming the sprawling school grounds into a vibrant arena of excitement, determination, and sheer sporting spirit. This thrilling event, organized exclusively for students from Nursery to Class V, witnessed enthusiastic participation from young athletes and their supportive parents, making it a day to remember.

The most anticipated sporting extravaganza commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Kulwinder Singh, former District Sports Officer (DSO) of Nawanshahr and the current District Handball Coach of Jalandhar. He was accorded a warm, green welcome, signifying the school’s commitment to environmental consciousness. The event was officially inaugurated with the release of tricolor balloons, symbolizing the spirit of unity and perseverance. The disciplined March Past by the budding sports stars set the tone for the event, as they showcased their impeccable synchronization and pride, earning admiration from the spectators.

The highlight of the event was an enthralling cheerleaders' performance, where young dancers set the stage ablaze with their energetic and rhythmic moves. Following this, the sporting events for the students unfolded, filling the air with enthusiasm and competitive spirit.

The little champs from Nursery to Class V participated in a variety of engaging and skill-enhancing races:
- Nursery:Simple Race, Hurdle Race, Candy Hiding Race
- LKG:Collect the Cones and Run, Balancing Race, Pick the Object with a Stick
- UKG:Obstacle Race, Pick the Ball and Drop, Frog Race
- Class I: Ice-Cream Race, Pyramid Cup Race, Burst Balloon Race
- Class II: Ready-to-School Race, Collect the Marble and Run, Hoop Shuttle Race
- Class III: Book Balance Banana Race
- Class IV: Obstacle Race
- Class V: Multidrill Race

The atmosphere was electric as young athletes challenged themselves, demonstrating agility, coordination, and an unyielding spirit. Their perseverance and enthusiasm were truly a sight to behold.

Adding to the excitement, specially curated games for parents saw an impressive turnout and enthusiastic participation. Their involvement and encouragement amplified the energy of the event, as they cheered on their little champions with unwavering support.
The much-awaited prize distribution ceremony saw the young achievers bask in glory as Kulwinder Singh honored the winners with medals. He lauded the students and teachers for their dedication and highlighted the indispensable role of sports in leading a healthy and disciplined life.

Principal, Dr. Yogesh Gambhir extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest for his valuable time and motivational words. He also expressed his appreciation for the parents’ active participation and unwavering support. Encouraging the students to uphold their sportsman spirit, he emphasized the significance of perseverance and teamwork in both sports and life.

It was a grand success, leaving behind a trail of unforgettable memories.
