SPIC MACAY Ludhiana Chapter organised Odissi Recital by Vid. Sujata Mohapatra at Ramgarhia Girls College

Ludhiana, February 22, 2024: P.G. Department of Music of Ramgarhia Girls College in association with SPIC MACAY organised Odissi Recital by Vid. Sujata Mohapatra.

Atul Talwar and Neelam Kapoor from SPIC MACAY team said that the aim of SPIC MACAY is to associate youth with the rich heritage of art and culture. 

The program commenced with the recitation of Saraswati Vandana followed by the mesmerizing presentation of Odissi Recital by Vid. Sujata Mohapatra accompanied by Rajesh Kumar Lenka in vocal, Budhanath Swain in Pakhawaj, Rudra Prasad Parida on flute and Ashish Kumar Perei on violin. She also enlightened the audience with the five forms of Odissi dance namely Mangalacharan, Battu, Pallavi, Abhinay and Mokshya. She displayed her forty years of 'sadhna' in those forty minutes.

Ranjodh Singh asserted that this event has provided all present an opportunity to have a glimpse of the precious culture and rich art forms of dance. This was indeed an enriching experience. 

Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur said that it is an educative and illuminating experience to have an event of SPIC MACAY at our college after a gap due to COVID. We hope to have more events like these in the upcoming years, she added.

Atul Talwar said that SPIC MACAY team is dedicated to keep the young minds connected with the prominent art forms of all regions of India.
