Chandigarh, March 10, 2026: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised special lecture on “Ethical use of Intellectual Property” in Lecture Hall-I.
Prof. Shiva Rama Rao, Chairperson of the Department of Library and Information Science, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Kangra (H.P.), was the resource person.
The Chairperson of the department, Dr. Khushpreet Singh Brar welcomed the resource person and participants. All the faculty members, research scholars, and students of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science and Master of Library and Information Science participated in the event. Neharika, a student of BLIS introduced and welcomed the resource person on the behalf of Library and information Science Department.
In the lecture, Prof. Rao discussed the importance of copyright, proper citation practices, and avoiding plagiarism in academic and research activities. The session encouraged participants to uphold ethical standards while using and sharing information resources.
The event concluded with an interactive session, where students engaged in a meaningful discussion with the resource person, gaining deeper insights into the lecture themes.
