Chandigarh, September 27, 2025: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, organised a special lecture on the topics “Data Visualization and Analytics through Google Looker Studio” and “Data Visualization through Tableau Desktop.”
The lecture was aimed to introduce students and researchers to modern tools that play a significant role in data-driven research, analysis, and decision-making.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Shivangi Kaushik, Assistant Professor at SRCC, University of Delhi. She provided an engaging and practical introduction to modern tools of data visualisation and analytics. She demonstrated the features of Google Looker Studio, then guided students through Tableau Desktop by showing data connectivity, chart building, and interactive dashboards.
The session was highly interactive as students were involved directly in working with the tools, which made the learning process more effective. The lecture proved to be very beneficial as it not only enhanced the participants’ technical skills but also encouraged them to apply data visualization techniques in their academic and professional work.
