Rohtak, June 3, 2026: Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Sachin Gupta has informed that, in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls will be undertaken across the district from June 15, 2026.
Under the approved schedule, enumeration and verification activities will be carried out from June 15 to July 14, 2026. The objective of the exercise is to strengthen the accuracy and integrity of electoral rolls by removing entries of deceased, shifted and duplicate voters while ensuring inclusion of all eligible electors.
Appealing for public cooperation, the District Election Officer said that citizens should actively support the revision process and assist election officials in maintaining error-free electoral rolls.
DC Sachin Gupta clarified that the Special Intensive Revision is not an exercise aimed at reducing voter numbers but a statutory process designed to ensure that electoral rolls contain only genuine and eligible voters. He emphasized that the Election Commission is committed to ensuring that no eligible voter is left out and no ineligible person remains included in the electoral roll.
He further informed that the last Special Intensive Revision in Haryana was conducted in 2002, making the current exercise particularly significant for updating electoral records in line with present realities.
The District Election Officer stated that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door verification across the district and verify voter details as well as supporting documents wherever required.
Following completion of the Special Intensive Revision process, rationalisation and reorganisation of polling stations will also be undertaken in accordance with Election Commission guidelines.
Citizens may access the 2002 electoral roll and other voter-related information through the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana.
He reiterated that no elector’s name will be removed from the draft electoral roll without proper verification, inquiry and an opportunity to be heard, as mandated by the Election Commission’s guidelines.
He said that safeguards have been incorporated to ensure transparency, fairness and protection of voter rights throughout the revision process.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that any person aggrieved by the decision of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) may file an appeal before the District Magistrate and subsequently before the Chief Electoral Officer, as per the prescribed procedure.
He also stated that citizens shifting to Haryana from other states will be required to submit an additional declaration along with Form-6 for voter registration.
For voter convenience, the District Election Office has activated the dedicated voter helpline 1950, through which citizens can seek information, clarification and assistance regarding electoral rolls, voter registration and the Special Intensive Revision process.
The District Administration has appealed to all citizens to cooperate fully with Booth Level Officers and participate actively in strengthening the electoral process through accurate voter registration and verification.
