Sharad Kelkar to don moustache in Kirti Kulhari’s debut production Nayeka

This year started with Kirti Kulhari turning producer with her maiden production, Nayeka, going on floors, and recently she welcomed actor Sharad Kelkar to the team of the film. Taking to her Instagram stories, Kirti posted a picture with Sharad from the film’s set, saying, “Joining the madness”, as the two smiled for the camera with a hair filter on. 
Talking about his involvement in the project, Sharad feels really excited. “I am really ecstatic to be a part of this film and this team. It is a dark comedy thriller and I really loved the script and my part in it ever since I read it. With it being Kirti’s debut production, it makes the film all the more special as she isn’t just my co-actor but also my producer and I am excited to embark upon this adventurous journey with her,” he says. 
The picture that Kirti put up with Sharad has the actor donning a thick moustache. Ask him about it and Sharad confirms that it is a part of his character’s look. But in a time where people tend to use artificial facial hair at times to keep their original look intact and to make it easier to get back to their previous self, Sharad has immersed himself completely into the character by growing a moustache.
“I believe in fully surrendering to my characters. I can’t play my part honestly if I am not completely immersed and dedicated towards my role. And it’s not just what’s on paper that makes the character for me, it’s also the look, the costumes, the physical traits and the nuances that make any character what it is. So, I chose to grow a moustache than using a fake one for this film,” Sharad states. 
Nayeka is a story of a struggling actress, who gets caught in a crime by mistake and is being directed by Ajaykiran Nair, who has also written the film’s screenplay. Apart from producing the film under her banner Kintsukuroi Films with Yatin Gupte and Sajid Melek’s Ward Wizard Entertaiment, Shahid Pathan and Vashisht Upadhyay, Kirti is also playing the lead in the film.
