Chandigarh, October 31, 2025: The University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development (UIFT & VD), Panjab University, organised a talk on mental health under the chairmanship of Prof Prabhdip Brar. The convener for the session was Dr Ramandeep Bawa, assisted by Gargi, who, along with senior students of UIFT & VD, Juli Verma and Priyanka Singh, co-ordinated the session.
The talk was delivered by Pulkita Wadhwa, a dedicated psychologist and counsellor at Panjab University, Chandigarh. She is trained in Psychoanalytic Studies from the Centre of Psychoanalysis, Washington–Baltimore (USA), and holds a Diploma in Community Mental Health from NIMHANS, Bangalore, as well as a Diploma in Guidance and Counselling.
Wadhwa is actively involved in supporting individuals with mental health disabilities through collaborations with NGOs and group homes, and also serves as guest faculty at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women. She leads her own mental health initiative. With a creative background in theatre and the performing arts, Ms Wadhwa beautifully integrates expression, empathy, and understanding into her therapeutic approach — reflecting her belief that healing begins with human connection.
During her recent mental health session at UIFT & VD, Panjab University, students described the experience as deeply moving, refreshing, and thought-provoking. Her ability to connect with the audience through real-life examples, gentle humour, and genuine warmth made the session both educational and comforting. Many students shared that her words encouraged them to reflect on self-care, emotional balance, and the importance of seeking help without hesitation.
