Science in Daily Life Skill Development Course organised in Doaba College

Jalandhar, July25, 2022: Faculty of sciences of Doaba College Jalandhar organised Science in Daily Life Skill Development Course for students.

Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandri said that  various lectures and hands-on trainings were organised related to Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology in which students were apprised about usage of science in daily life viz how to monitor blood pressure, blood glucose and blood group testing , to check TDS in water using TDS metre and checking food adulteration in food products etc.

Dr Narinder Kumar, Dr Rakesh Kumar, Dr Shivika Datta and Dr Rajnish Saini apprised students about the particle accelerators and black holes, performed the experiments on finding out the Planck’s constant and verification of photoelectric laws of emission. Students also prepared the different laboratory solutions in chemistry lab and a special lecture was delivered on the Food Adulteration. Relevant lectures were delivered by the experts on the Classification of Kingdom Animalia along with study of laboratory specimens and Introduction to plant tissues. Students also performed experiments on the Human Skeleton, study of slides under microscope and Blood group testing, blood pressure and blood glucose testing. In addition to this, a special training was provided on xylary elements through radial longitudinal sections of dicot plant stem.
