Sarjapur, Bangalore, July 17, 2025: Ryan International Academy, Sarjapur, kicked off its "15 Books Campaign" with an exciting ceremony that brought literature to life for students from Grade I to VIII. The initiative challenges students to read 15 books during the 2025-26 academic year, transforming reading from assignment to adventure.
Academic strategist and author Roma Joshi inaugurated the campaign, telling the enthusiastic gathering: "When children fall in love with books, they're not just learning to read – they're learning to think, dream, and discover new worlds."
The ceremony's highlight was the "Literary Time Travel Parade," where students dressed as famous authors like Shakespeare, Jane Austen, and Mark Twain. Student anchor Lasya hosted the event, while Head Boy Namish and Counsel Member Sanvika welcomed the chief guest with a card, badge, and bouquet. Welcome speeches were delivered in English, Hindi, Kannada, and German, showcasing the school's multicultural approach.
Students Tanvi and Tamanna from Grades 6 and 7 presented the campaign's vision, emphasizing reading as a tool for personal growth aligned with Chairman Dr. A. F. Pinto's educational philosophy. The event also honored students who completed last year's reading challenge, celebrating their dedication as role models.
Joshi engaged students in lively discussions about books and writing, encouraging the students to create their own stories. Her interactive session left students excited about their upcoming literary journey.
Principal Sripurna Sarma expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative: "This campaign represents our commitment to nurturing inquisitive minds and future leaders. Reading opens infinite possibilities for our students and helps them develop into compassionate, thinking individuals."
Unlike traditional reading assignments, the campaign lets students choose books they are genuinely interested in, with guidance from teachers and librarians. The year-long initiative includes monthly reading challenges, author visits, creative writing workshops, and storytelling sessions to maintain enthusiasm.
The ceremony concluded with school and national anthems, officially launching what promises to be an exciting literary adventure for students.
