RV University’s Navodaya 2025 Welcomes New Batch

Bengaluru, July 28, 2025: RV University, a new-age global university for liberal education, hosted its fifth annual inauguration titled Navodaya 2025 today to welcome the new cohort of 2,000 students into its diverse range of programmes. The event celebrated the enrollment of students across its eight schools for law, business, economics and public policy, computer science and engineering, design and innovation, liberal arts and sciences, film, media and creative arts and school of continuing education and professional Studies. It also announced the opening of a new campus in Nanjangud, Mysore next year.
Eminent speakers from the business and academia attended Navodaya 2025, which was held in two sessions–morning and noon. It reflected RV University's dedication to bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.
Dr. M.R. Jayaram, Chancellor, MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS) and Chairman, Gokula Education Foundation (Medical), graced the morning session as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasised the importance of building a strong foundation and developing the right skillsets to help adapt to future challenges.
Prof. (Dr.) M.K. Sridhar, former Chancellor of Chanakya University and Member of the UGC, New Delhi was the Chief Guest for the second session. He urged the students to think differently and out of the box as fresh ideas can lead to new actions that bring positive change.
The morning session was presided by Dr. (h.c.) AVS Murthy, Hon’ble Chancellor, RV University and the afternoon session was presided by Dr MP Shyam, President of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST). Other dignitaries present were Sri DP Nagaraj, Pro Chancellor, Sri Nikhil A. Murthy, Director at RVU, Trustees of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), Prof (Dr) Dwarika Prasad Uniyal, Vice Chancellor (i/c), RV University, Prof. (Dr.) Anuradha Chatterjee, Pro Vice Chancellor, RVU, Registrar Dr. Sahana D. Gowda, Deans and faculty members.

Prof (Dr) Dwarika Prasad Uniyal, Vice Chancellor (i/c), said,"At RV University, we’re developing not just academics but also socially conscious leaders who can successfully negotiate complexity, welcome change, and contribute significantly to a variety of fields. He also announced that RV University will launch its new Mysore campus in 2026 with a wide variety of programmes for business, engineering, sciences, and pharmacy. Keeping up with its future-ready education mandate, the university launched a world-class Career Opportunity Center in June 2025, with tech-enabled labs to facilitate 350+ students. Since its launch, RV University has set up 9 schools of inter-disciplinary studies, with over 27 degree programs and multiple specializations. The university is also making significant strides in achieving gender parity, with female students now accounting for over 20% of the student population.
RV University honored top students with merit scholarships, recognising their academic achievements and potential. Cultural performances by current students made Navodaya vibrant, offering newcomers a glimpse of the university's dynamic campus life. This underscored RV University's commitment to both academic excellence and creative expression, highlighting the well-rounded experience awaiting new students.
A week-long orientation programme will follow. This orientation will allow students to understand more about the university, their schools, and programmes. The first two days will feature university-level sessions, followed by school-specific sessions. RVU Santhe, an academic fair, organized on 29-30 July 2025, will showcase student clubs, various majors and minors offered by different schools, and university-level electives. This will offer an opportunity for students to know more about RVU, its faculty, their peers, and seniors.
