RUSA Workshop Course commences
The three days RUSA Workshop Course commenced today at Department of Chemistry, Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh. PU Director, Research and Development Cell, Professor Meenakshi Goyal, inaugurated the prestigious workshop course entitled “Conjugated Nanoparticle Chemistry for Environmental and Biomedical Applications”, which is being organised by Department of Chemistry, Panjab University in association with PEC Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, 28 May 2025: The three days RUSA Workshop Course commenced today at Department of Chemistry, Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh. PU Director, Research and Development Cell, Professor Meenakshi Goyal, inaugurated the prestigious workshop course entitled “Conjugated Nanoparticle Chemistry for Environmental and Biomedical Applications”, which is being organised by Department of Chemistry, Panjab University in association with PEC Chandigarh.
As many as 105 participants including Director, Centre for Bio Innovative Advanced Materials, Korea University, Seoul, South Korea Professor Dong Kwon Lim, faculty members from13 different institutes across 4 states, post graduate students and PhD students are participating in the workshop course.
Professor Meenakshi Goyal appreciated the efforts of the organisers for conducting this workshop focused on interdisciplinary applications in environmental and healthcare field. She urged participants to use this platform as an opportunity to expand their network and knowledgein this emerging field.
Professor Goyal mentioned that Professor D K Lim with established research credentials in this domain is the right person to conduct this workshop and impart quality knowledge through series of lectures and associated practical demonstrations in this workshop course.
Earlier, the RUSA Coordinator, Professor G R Chaudhary presented the overview of the workshop course including key point of the workshop, its schedule and execution over the coming three days. He emphasised the need for quality research and innovation in higher education and briefed about numerous initiatives of Government of India on goals and visions of RUSA scheme such as startups, entrepreneurship, & skill development for promoting quality education and research.
Professor Sandeep Kumar, Workshop Coordinator from PEC Chandigarh shared ongoing joint collaborative activities including MoU between Panjab University, Chandigarh and Korea University, Seoul.
The event is further graced by the presence of Dr Nitin Kumar Singhal, Scientist from NABI, Mohali, Dr Rajeev Kumar, Chairperson, Dept of Environment Studies, PU Chandigarh and other PU faculty members. Dr Bunty Sharma, Project Scientist, SAIF, Panjab University coordinated the entire event.
