ROLE OF WOMEN IS PARAMOUNT TO MAKE THE STATE 'RANGLA PUNJAB': KULDEEP SINGH DHALIWAL

Organises one day training workshop for women
Chandigarh, December 20, 2022: “The role of women is utmost important to fulfill the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make the state 'Rangla Punjab' and the women Sarpanch/Panch are leading their villages with missionary zeal to realize the dream on ground". Expressing these views Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal informed that many commendable tasks are accomplished in the villages of the state, due to which the villages are being developed in holistic way and the deprived sections of the society are getting benefits under the MGNREGA scheme.
          During a one-day training workshop organized by the Rural Development and Panchayat Department for the training of Mates/women at Municipal Bhavan here today, Mr. Dhaliwal felicitated the women/mates with marvellous achievements under MGNREGA. On this occasion, he also launched Work Management System Software, MGNREGA Helpline Number 1100 and a booklet about MGNREGA scheme to bring transparency and expedite the monetary transactions process. During this one-day workshop, comprehensive information has been shared with delegates regarding development works being conducted by Panchayats in different districts through PPT and a video mode.
          While felicitating the best performing districts under various parameters, Mr. Dhaliwal said that the state government has so far get rid of the illegal possession of more than 10,000 acres of land and successfully conducted sittings of Gram Sabhas in villages. He said that this training workshop will prove helpful for women/mates to gain deep knowledge about the MGNREGA scheme, a large number of women mates will be deputed in villages under the scheme so that the development works will be carried out under their guidance to maximise the benefits. The Cabinet Minister emphasized on team spirit for complete transformation of villages and develops them as the model so that the task of 'Rangala Punjab' could be achieved.
          On this occasion, Rural Development Department Joint Development Commissioner-cum-Commissioner MGNREGA Amit Kumar, Joint Director Sanjeev Garg besides a large number of women Mates and officers and employees of the department were present.
