In a bold step to empower the evolving print industry, the Department of Printing Technology at the Regional Institute of Printing Technology (RIPT)—India's pioneering hub for print education since 1958—today announced a transformative three-day online Short-Term Training Programme (STTP) on Quality Assurance and Process Control in Print Production. Scheduled for January 19–21, 2026 (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST), this intensive session equips professionals with the precision tools to conquer colour challenges in conventional, digital, and hybrid workflows.
As print technologies accelerate toward seamless integration, achieving flawless colour accuracy, consistency, and compliance is no longer optional—it's essential. This demonstration-driven program delivers hands-on mastery of critical concepts, including CIE colorimetry, spectrophotometry and measurement protocols, ICC colour management frameworks, device calibration and characterization, and software-driven process controls. Attendees will dive deep into TVI analysis, grey balance optimization, and ΔE tolerance thresholds, while exploring cornerstone standards like ISO 3664, ISO 13655, the ISO 12647 series, ISO/PAS 15339 CRPCs, and ISO 20654. Live sessions feature real-time demonstrations on display calibration and printer profiling, bridging theory with actionable expertise. Tailored for print production leaders, ink and coating specialists, and graphic media innovators, the STTP also serves as a gateway for researchers, academicians, and students to access cutting-edge insights. With just 20 exclusive seats, this is a rare opportunity to future-proof careers in a competitive landscape.
"In an industry where a single hue mismatch can derail a campaign, our STTP arms participants with the scientific rigor and practical edge to deliver print excellence every time," said Shankhya Debnath, Head of Department and Lecturer, Department of Printing Technology, RIPT Kolkata. "We're thrilled to lead this charge from one of India's oldest print bastions, fostering innovation that resonates globally."
Registration opens tomorrow, December 15, 2025, and closes January 12, 2026.
Established in 1958, RIPT Kolkata stands as India's foremost institute for printing technology education and research. Affiliated with the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development, RIPT drives innovation, skill enhancement, and industry partnerships to shape the future of print and graphic media.
