Ferozepur, March 22, 2013: On the written complaint of Manager, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, a case has been registered against Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Rice and General Mill, Dulchi Ke Road, Ferozepur City for allegedly embezzling Rs.1,04,93,256 of paddy stocks.

The department has alleged that the rice mill has put a loss to the department out of the paddy stored during the year 1998-99, to the extent of 9,971 bags weighing 6724 qtl 27 kg.

On the other hand, the owner of Shree Guru Teg Bahadur Rice and General Mill had denied all the charges.  According to him, the mill has already won the case from the Arbitrator and Civil Court and since the case has been decided in their favour, the case cannot be registered against them.

He further said, there is some confusion on the part of the department and perhaps they have not seen the copies of order passed by the Arbitrator and Civil Courts.  The copies of these orders are being handed over to the departmental authorities to demand to withdraw the case.
