RESIDENTS complain against encroachment of public park

Ludhiana, March 13, 2013: A plea has been made to deputy commissioner Rahul Tiwari regarding the colonisers who have allegedly started selling the park after the sale of plots of the colony.

A complaint has been made regarding the encroachment of park in Kumar Estate Colony, Rahon Road, Ludhiana.

A complaint has been made that the park of the colony owned by Sood Housing and Developers GK estate, Mundiyan Kalan, Rahon Road, Ludhiana has been demolished for the sake of construction of shops at the place.

The owners have initiated the process of cutting the plots in the park area and selling it further. The encroachment is being made in the area despite the fact that the map of the colony has been approved with a park in it.

The problem is henceforth augmented, as the colony has no other surrounding areas, which facilitate the residents with a park as the pollution is increasing at the fast pace in the area. “The owner’s claim that a store will be made in the place of a park, but the workers at the construction site have informed that the shops are being made in the place,” said Jashpal Sharma, a resident.

He adds, “I bought the plot after spending a huge amount of money for the sake of the park as my plot faced it. But now the encroachment of the park has ruined our expectations and reasons to buy the plot.”

The application has also been filed with the police to look into the matter.
