NRI Commission directs SSPs to submit report till January 14

Chandigarh, January 1, 2014: The NRI Commission of Punjab on Tuesday directed the SSPs of  Nawanshahr, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar and Tarn Taran districts to contact the aggrieved families of  15 Punjabi youth languishing in jail at Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, for the past two months and submit their details along with their kith and kin on or before January 14 so that the Commission should initiate appropriate action for their release.  
A spokesman of the commission said that the commission has taken the suo-moto of news items published on December 31 in respect of 15 Punjabi youth languishing in jail at Abu Dhabi. It may be  mentioned here that their kin back at home, namely Balwinder Singh, Bhalmal Singh and Kesar Singh of Nawanshahr, Balbir Ram of Garshankar, Manjit Singh of Balachaur, Balwinder Singh of Jalandhar and Satwinder Singh of Tarn Taran have no clue that why their family members have been put behind the bars, besides having no knowledge to take up their matter with concerned authorities.
The spokesman further said that the Commission would take up the matter with the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs to ensure the release of Punjabi youths as early as possible. / /punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news,
