RCF Begins Production of Coaches for Export to Bangladesh Railways
Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, has commenced production of coaches for export to Bangladesh Railways, marking another milestone in coach production. The initiative forms part of a 200-coach export order, under which RCF will manufacture 20 coaches in the current year. This batch includes 8 air-conditioned (AC) coaches and 12 non-AC coaches, all designed to meet the operational and passenger requirements of Bangladesh Railways.
Kapurthala, November 22, 2025: Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, has commenced production of coaches for export to Bangladesh Railways, marking another milestone in coach production. The initiative forms part of a 200-coach export order, under which RCF will manufacture 20 coaches in the current year. This batch includes 8 air-conditioned (AC) coaches and 12 non-AC coaches, all designed to meet the operational and passenger requirements of Bangladesh Railways.
The production of the first coach shell was ceremonially inaugurated today by Manohar Lal, SSE/Shell, the senior-most employee of the Shell Assembly Shop in presence of Ravi Kumar, PCME, Sanjay Aggarwal, PCMM, Baldev Raj CWE/Shell along with senior officials and a large gathering of employees, reflecting the pride and enthusiasm of the workforce.
RCF has a proven track record of delivering high-quality rolling stock to Bangladesh Railways. In 2016–17, the factory successfully manufactured and supplied 120 LHB coaches, custom-engineered to suit the specific requirements of Bangladesh’s rail network. The new order further solidifies RCF’s reputation as a trusted partner in international rail manufacturing.
