RBL Bank Felicitates Pranav Gurav, India’s Fastest 100-Meter Sprinter

RBL Bank takes great pride in felicitating Pranav Pramod Gurav, the 23-year-old athlete from Pune who stunned the nation by winning gold in the men’s 100 meters at the 28th National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships held in Kochi on April 25, clocking 10.27 seconds. In doing so, he outpaced four of India’s six fastest sprinters in history, a remarkable achievement that marks him as India’s fastest man over 100 meters today.

Mumbai, May 5, 2025: RBL Bank takes great pride in felicitating Pranav Pramod Gurav, the 23-year-old athlete from Pune who stunned the nation by winning gold in the men’s 100 meters at the 28th National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships held in Kochi on April 25, clocking 10.27 seconds. In doing so, he outpaced four of India’s six fastest sprinters in history, a remarkable achievement that marks him as India’s fastest man over 100 meters today.

 

With the aim of supporting young Indian athletes poised to bring glory to the nation, Mr. R. Subramaniakumar, MD & CEO of RBL Bank, felicitated Pranav at the Bank’s Corporate Office in Mumbai, applauding his outstanding

performance and inspiring journey. This initiative reaffirms RBL Bank’s commitment to nurturing young talent.  As a token of appreciation, the Bank rewarded the athlete with Rs. 50,000.

 

Pranav’s journey is a story of grit and passion. Hailing from Daund near Pune, he began training without formal facilities or gear. He made his mark early with a 13.5-second sprint at a local meet and went on to train at Baburao Sanas Stadium, commuting 160 km daily while balancing his academics. A civil engineering graduate from AISSMS College, he is now employed with Indian Railways as a second-grade officer in Pune.

 

After winning gold at the U-23 Nationals in 2022 and silver at the National Games in 2023 and 2025, Pranav continues to rise as a star in Indian athletics.
