The PCTE Group of Institutes, in collaboration with the LMA, has concluded the second day of the Dr. DR Singh Memorial Debate, an enthralling event highlighting the intellectual acumen and debating finesse of students from diverse institutions.

Ludhiana, February 3, 2024: The PCTE Group of Institutes, in collaboration with the LMA, has concluded the second day of the Dr. DR Singh Memorial Debate, an enthralling event highlighting the intellectual acumen and debating finesse of students from diverse institutions.

Commencing on 2nd February 2024, the debate witnessed intense competition, with 38 teams engaging in fierce discussions that extended late till midnight during the quarterfinals on Day 1.

Day 2 kicked off with eight formidable teams clashing in the semi-finals. Delving into thought-provoking and timely topics such as whether Europe should pay reparations for its colonial past and if Europe should be decoupled from the United States. The participants showcased exceptional eloquence and critical thinking, captivating the audience.

Following the gripping semi-finals, four outstanding teams advanced to the finals, debating the motion "THBT Global South Will Lead the World”. The final round witnessed a spectacular display of compelling arguments, with Team RAMJAS College, DU ultimately securing the first position. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of 1 lakh, elevating the excitement of their victory. The second and third positions were claimed by NIT, Jalandar and Kirori Mal College, DU along with 25,000 and 10,000 respectively, earning accolades for their exceptional performances.

One of the participants, despite not securing a spot, Khyati found immense joy in the experience, fostering new found appreciation for the art of debate. Anuj Sharma, another participant found the debate to be an insightful experience.

Expressing gratitude to all participating teams and adjudicators, the PCTE Group of Institutes and LMA acknowledged their contributions in making this year's debate a resounding success. The event not only showcased participants' intellectual prowess but also fostered a spirit of healthy competition and intellectual discourse.
