Punjab’s “War Against Drugs” Exposed as Law and Order Crumbles: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan

Chandigarh, October 4, 2025: National BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan strongly condemned the shocking incident that took place in Barnala, where a drug addict brutally murdered a ruling party critic in broad daylight and shamelessly went live on Facebook after committing the heinous act.

Grewal said that this horrifying episode exposes the utter failure of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the State Aam Aadmi Party leadership and the party’s central command in Delhi. He said that the incident has sent shockwaves across the state and has once again brought to light the complete collapse of law and order in Punjab.

He stated that the AAP government came to power with grand promises of delivering “Badlaav”(change)  and eradicating the drug menace through its so-called “Yudh Nashian Virudh” (war against drugs). However, the reality on the ground, Grewal said, is drastically different the streets of Punjab are witnessing open killings, the drug mafia is thriving and addicts are destroying lives under the very nose of those in power.

Grewal further said that the government’s claims of good governance and an effective anti-drug campaign have turned out to be nothing more than empty slogans and hollow promises. He said that when criminals and drug addicts can openly commit murder in broad daylight, boast about it on social media, and still walk free, it is a clear sign that the system has completely collapsed.

He added that this is not a “war against drugs” but a total surrender to the drug mafia and lawlessness. According to Grewal, every passing day in Punjab is witnessing new tragedies, families are being torn apart, youth are being lost to addiction and the government remains busy in self-praise and propaganda instead of taking concrete action.

Grewal said, “This is not the Punjab that our great Gurus, martyrs, and farmers dreamed of, This is a state that is bleeding under the weight of administrative negligence, political arrogance, and moral decay. The AAP government must take immediate accountability and resign if it cannot ensure the safety and dignity of its citizens.”

He appealed to the people of Punjab to wake up to the harsh reality and stand united against the drug menace and the political indifference that fuels it.

Grewal said, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was elected to protect Punjab, not to turn it into a crime scene. The so-called ‘Badlaav’ has become a symbol of fear, filth and failure. It is time for real accountability not excuses.
